Natural Bride

- Your natural style wedding doesn’t have to be outside. Bring the outdoors in with lush greenery; berries; seeds; flowers; pebbles; gems; natural linen and cotton fabrics; and wood.
- A natural style is the perfect way to embrace an eco-friendly wedding. There are so many creative ways to include recycling and upcycling in your wedding styling. Choose recycled and seeded paper stationery; seedlings for wedding favours and potted plants for centrepieces. Locally sourced flowers will reduce your carbon footprint and help support local farmers and small businesses.
- Use delicious herbs for a pretty centrepiece that smells as good as it looks.
- You can’t go wrong with a neutral colour palette but don’t be afraid to include a strong colour. Take inspiration from your venue and include vivid berry tones or bright citrus colours.
- Embrace the current greenery trend. Greenery can give some stunning effects and is easy on the budget.
- Simplicity is key to a natural wedding. One leaf in the right place can be as effective as fifty flowers!
- Mix this style with: country, garden and beach styles.
Elegant Bride

- Keeping your colour palette minimal is key to an elegant wedding. Classic white is perfect for your main colour. Match it with soft pastels or formal navy or black.
- Choose a calligraphy script for your invitations and other stationery.
- To create a sense of elegance, keep things on the formal-side. Think sit-down meals with formal place settings or a classy cocktail party which will give your wedding an elegant sense of occasion.
- An elegant wedding is as simple as it is pretty. A small arrangement of your favourite flowers as a centrepiece is all you need to nail this style.
- The style of furniture can help you create an elegant look. Choose tiffany chairs and round tables with floor length tablecloths.
- If your budget can handle it, bone china and crystal glassware feel special and will give your wedding day that sense of occasion.
- Mix this style with: garden and romantic styles.
Garden Bride

- A garden wedding is nature as it’s prettiest, polished best! Using flowers in a garden wedding is almost compulsory. Whether you choose fresh or artificial flowers, or a mixture of both, there are so many ways you can incorporate your most favourite flowers: your wedding arbour/backdrop; flower walls; floral tablecloths; centrepieces; garnish for food and drinks; floral stationery.
- Greenery is another big styling feature in a garden wedding which can extend your budget much further than flowers can. Add a few flowers to your greenery and you can achieve a similar look for much less money.
- If you are lucky enough to find a venue with a lush, manicured lawn don’t let it go!
- If your wedding is outdoors, aim to make it as comfortable as possible with upholstered furniture, rugs, chandeliers, and formal table settings. This style is basically about bringing the indoors out.
- Choose a large formal bouquet that is all about the flowers. Roses, peonies, lisianthus, ranunculus, jasmine and sprigs of greenery look and smell gorgeous!
- Mix this style with: modern, elegant and vintage styles.
Country Bride

- Upcycling is the ultimate way to style a country wedding- wheelbarrows, hay bails, ladders, buckets and bonus points if you can include some old farm machinery!
- Choose rustic wooden furniture. Wooden pallets are practically free and can be used for seating and tables.
- The more DIY the better! Homemade décor shows all the love your have put into your special day. Make your own jam or soap for wedding favours.
- Wildflowers in a loosely-tied bouquet will give it that just-hand-picked look.
- Get the laid-back country vibe with casual dining. Set up self-serve buffets and bars with relaxed family style seating- or forget tables and chairs altogether and opt for picnic blankets and cushions.
- You can achieve a country wedding style with almost any colour scheme. From pretty pastels to happy sunflower yellows, apple reds and sky blues.
- If you are planning an outdoor country wedding, end the celebrations with a wooden open-air dance floor and a bonfire under the stars.
- Mix this style with: natural, boho, vintage styles.
Romantic Bride

- Choose soft colours- pinks, blues or greys are beautiful and feminine.
- Drape floaty fabrics from the ceiling, around doorframes and over tables to create a soft, dreamy space.
- Choose old-world florals, roses, lisianthus, freesia, and ranunculus.
- Candlelight and chandeliers create the perfect ambience for romance.
- In your ceremony backdrop, use soft draping fabric and as many florals as you can!
- Incorporate your favourite quotes in your stationery and signs to create your own fairy tale.
- Mix this style with: elegant, beach, and garden styles.
Nautical Bride

- The traditional navy and white colour scheme will work beautifully in your nautical wedding, however, don’t be afraid to add an accent colour, such as yellow, red or pink.
- Stripes are classic and will give your wedding styling a timeless quality.
- Gold and brass décor, including cutlery, goblets and candleholders will give your styling that maritime feel.
- Have fun with your décor. There are so many nautical inspired props and decorations you can include: rope, anchors, rowing boats, sailing boats, flags, compasses and life saving rings.
- There are so many opportunities for nautical-inspired puns to include on your stationery and signs it’s hard not to include at least one as you ‘tie the knot’. (Sorry!)
- Mix this style with: Industrial, modern, natural, and romantic styles.
Beach Bride

- Get your colour scheme straight from the beach. Soft neutral tones are perfect.
- The beach style is a version of a natural wedding, so borrow your décor from nature- shells, grasses, succulents, pebbles and driftwood.
- Choose décor that won’t blow away in strong sea breezes. Opt for solid, heavy furniture and props- and fabrics that float rather than flap!
- Choose a natural unstructured bouquet with roses, scotch thistle, succulents, orchids, anemones and ranunculus.
- For stationery, use an on-trend watercolour design with a handwritten font.
- Mix this style with: tropical, boho, and natural styles.
Industrial Bride

- The key to nailing the industrial look is to soften the harsh industrial spaces. The three best things to do this are fabric draping; warm lighting; and natural greenery.
- Floral arrangements can be either kept minimal or become a focal point. Large floral chandeliers looks amazing in open warehouse or barn spaces.
- Make a feature of any quirky characteristics your venue might have, such as ceiling beams, exposed brick and large windows and doors. Simply lighting a feature in your venue can create a dramatic look with little effort and money.
- Keep true to the industrial theme by using décor in industry-inspired materials. Marble, wood and copper look fantastic together.
- Tie your styling together with a monogram. Design your own personal wedding brand with a monogram and place it on stationery, napkins, wedding favours, signs and anything else you can think of. Buying a custom-made stamp is a cheap and easy way to personalise your wedding.
- The term minimalism is popping up everywhere at the moment so it’s not surprising it’s reaching wedding styling. Less is more at the moment and the industrial style is at it’s best with simplicity.
- Mix this style with: modern, natural, and glam styles.
Boho Bride

- The eclectic boho wedding style can be difficult to tie together. Keeping to a colour scheme will help keep your wedding styling coherent.
- Opt for casual seating on the ground or the floor with plenty of rugs, cushions and low-set tables.
- Choose décor from natural materials, such as cotton, stones, feathers, gems and flowers.
- Get crafty! Anything handmade can be used to style your boho wedding. Patchwork quilts, macramé, dream catchers, bunting, flower crowns and bouquets.
- Add some flower power! Informal floral centrepieces, floral crowns and petal ‘confetti’ are the perfect touches to your boho wedding style.
- Search op shops and second hand stores for preloved décor and furniture with loads of character. Don’t worry about mismatching things like chairs, plates, glassware or vases. As long as you keep things within your colour scheme you’ll have the boho look on an even better looking budget!
- Mix this style with: natural, country, beach, and tropical styles.
Vintage Bride

- One word: lace! I don’t think there is anything that says vintage more than dainty lace. From your wedding arbour draping, to tablecloths, to the wrap around your bouquet use lace wherever you like.
- Polished silverware, floral china and crystal glassware will give your vintage wedding reception an old-world elegance. Check out your local op shops for these items at bargain prices.
- A soft pastel colour scheme with baby pinks and blues looks divine in a vintage wedding.
- Collect antique props and furniture, such as bicycles, serving carts, buffets, doors, mirrors and windows. You can find unique pieces at recycle centres or in classifieds ads.
- Opt for a formal bouquet with traditional flowers. You can’t go wring with roses, lavender, geranium, freesia, and if you’re lucky and it’s in season, jasmine.
- Have your guests help themselves to your choice of bar- champagne, whiskey, bourbon or cigar bars all suit a vintage wedding.
- Choose stationery with pretty floral designs in calligraphy script.
- Mix this style with: elegant, romantic, glam or industrial styles.
Glam Bride

- This luxurious style calls for statement features that will dazzle your guests. Tall and elaborate floral centrepieces can completely transform a room.
- Include materials in your décor such as sequins, feathers, gold and diamantes that give the impression of opulence.
- Champagne towers are sure to get your glam wedding party started!
- Set the ambience with wash lights and spotlights in blue or purple. Even a rustic country hall can look like a French boudoir with some clever lighting tricks.
- A tall wedding cake will look impressive- even if not all the tiers are actual cake.
- If you are stuck for a colour scheme, classic black and gold will look fabulous!
- Mix this style with: vintage or industrial styling.
Modern Bride

- Modern styling at the moment is very much about minimalism. The key to achieving the minimal look is quality over quantity.
- Monochrome or limited colour schemes will give your modern wedding a sleek and expensive look. (Don’t be afraid to use black, midnight blue and grey).
- Use geometric shapes to achieve clean modern lines in your styling. From stationery to candle holders, triangles, pentagons and hexagons are being used to create the no-fuss minimal look in as many dimensions as possible.
- Opt for simple centrepieces such as a few taper candles or an understated floral arrangement.
- Choose a predominantly white, formal bouquet with touches of greenery.
- Metallic touches- especially rose gold will give your minimal styling just the right amount of bling.
- Mix this style with: industrial and elegant styles.
Tropical Bride

- Get your wedding into tropical holiday mode with a bright colour scheme- think jungle green, frangipani yellow, bird of paradise orange, Cooktown Orchid purple, and hibiscus pink! Pair your tropical colours with metallic gold.
- Choose a fun tropical print and incorporate it into your stationery, cushions, table-runners and signs.
- Light up your balmy night reception with tiki torches and festoon lights.
- Get creative with tropical inspired décor such as pineapples, coconuts, tropical leaves, flowers, wooden furniture, and macramé backdrops and table runners.
- Opt for a bold bouquet with tropical flowers. For flowers such as frangipanis and hibiscus go with artificial so as to prevent the not-so-great ‘wilting look’.
- Mix this style with: beach, boho and natural styles.
